RILEY ABA

& AUTISM CENTER

CAPTIVATING

From dancing to finger painting and bubble parties, our goal is to make therapy not only enriching for your child, but fun too!

CENTER-BASED

Center-based ABA therapy allows for your child to receive more supervision and monitoring of their treatment progress from the Board Certified Behavior Analyst during therapy sessions.

COMMUNITY

We provide center-based services to families from the following areas and beyond: Brookside, Crossroads, downtown Kansas City, Fairway, Plaza, Prairie Village, River Market, Westwood, Westport, and Westside.

Riley ABA & Autism Center is designed to promote a welcoming learning environment where your child can grow and develop their abilities in a variety of areas, ranging from communication and social skills to self help skills. Our center offers individualized and group learning opportunities, so we are able to tailor our programs to each child’s unique needs while providing the frequency, oversight, and quality care every client deserves in a center-based therapeutic setting.

COMPASSION

We individualize treatment to not only target the development of your child’s cognitive skills, but their social and emotional regulation, as well.

CREATIVE

Your child’s treatment goals are individualized to meet their specific needs.  Our programs are individually tailored to help them progress based on their unique skill set.

CREDENTIALED

All of our therapists have undergone intensive training in the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).  All of our therapists are Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) by the Behavior Analytic Certification Board (BACB), in addition to being CPR and First Aid certified.

WHO WE SERVE...

Riley ABA & Autism Center serves children and adolescents with a medical diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) ranging from ages eighteen months to five years old. Each child’s treatment program is designed based upon their individual needs as determined by a multitude of assessments. The goal of every child’s program is to “close the gap” between a child's current skill set and those of their typically developing peers.

WHAT IS ABA?

Behavior analysis is a scientific approach to understanding behavior and how it is affected by the environment. "Behavior" refers to all kinds of actions and skills (not just misbehavior) and "environment" includes all sorts of physical and social events that might change or be changed by one's behavior. The science of behavior analysis focuses on principles (that is, general laws) about how behavior works, or how learning takes place. For example, one principle of behavior analysis is positive reinforcement. When a behavior is followed by something that is valued (a "reward"), that behavior is likely to be repeated. Through decades of research, the field of behavior analysis has developed many techniques for increasing useful behaviors and reducing those that may be harmful or that interfere with learning. Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is the use of those techniques and principles to address socially important problems, and to bring about meaningful behavior change.
